Vancouver Wedding Photographers
Words cannot describe how amazing and wonderful Fiona and Ivan are – individually and together. They are the type of people who are larger than life. They are the type of people who instantly make you feel like they have been life long friends of yours. Their energy is contagious and their love for life and for each other is inspiring. When we first met with them, we didn’t want the meeting to end! We just wanted to listen to their amazing life stories! We knew we had to photograph their wedding, and we were VERY excited when we heard back from Fiona and Ivan with their decision to hire us. Side note: Fiona’s daughter Natalie was a bridesmaid in Steph & Mike’s wedding party)
Fiona and Ivan have an epic love story. We’re not sure how much we can say, but to sum it up, Ivan waited 35 years for Fiona. They’ve known each other since their early teens back in South Africa where they are from. Life took them in different directions – Fiona moved to Vancouver in her late teens and committed her life to teaching children, now owning a very successful Montessori school. Ivan plunged himself into his medical career as an ENT (ear, nose & throat) surgeon. Essentially they reconnected after years of losing touch, rekindled a spark, and got married this September 3rd!
Their beautiful ceremony was at the St. Mary’s Kerrisdale Church , where family, friends, and all of Fiona “Ms. Lee’s” Montessori students witnessed their exchange of vows. They had Fiona’s two children as the maid of honor and best man – so sweet!
We travelled down to the Burrard Street Bridge and to the Shangri-La Hotel for some photos. It was a pleasure working along side Bruce and Camilla of Cloud 9 Creative .
Fiona and Ivan’s grand reception was at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel . It was decorated so beautifully, thanks to Lisa from Sweet Beginnings . They had a wonderful live band entertaining guests. The food was decadent, the speeches were well articulated (everyone who spoke at the podium had great public speaking skills!) and Fiona’s little niece and nephew performed a cute little piece from the Little Mermaid.
Fiona, you looked drop dead gorgeous. Ivan, you are a hilarious man. We loved your wedding and we loved getting to know you and your amazing story.

The wedding can only be described as a Wow and the photos captured all those prescious moments for the Fi and Ivan. The bridalo coiple were beautiful, Natalie and Kris shone during the day – congratulations to 2 wonderful people you really deserve each other and Kudos to Stonephotos for enshrining the day.
